چکیده

The objective of the study was to determine the effect of Quantum Blue phytase on P utilisation and bone parameter in laying hens fed barley, oat and soybean meal based diets. Over a period of 40 days 64 laying hens (from 29 weeks of age) were distributed to 4 treatments (8 cages, two birds each). Experimental diets with no inorganic P added were supplemented with 0, 150, 300 or 1200 FTU phytase/kg. After 28 days of adaptation excreta collection was done for 5 days. Tibia bones were collected after slaughter for breaking strength and mineralization analysis. The average laying rate of the hens was 94.7%. Phytase supplementations improved P utilisation compared to that of the control layers with differences for layers fed 150 and 1200 FTU/kg being significant (+0.03g/d; p<0.05). Total tibia ash of the control layers was improved by all phytase application rates (+0.27 to +0.34 g/bone; p<0.05). Bone breaking strength was greater in layers fed phytase but significantly different between birds fed NC and 1200 FTU phytase /kg feed only (+ 81.5 Nm, p<0.05). The phytase tested improved P utilisation and bone parameter of the laying hens, with differences seen more distinct in bone parameter.

Effects of phytase B on laying performance, eggshell quality and on phosphorus and calcium balance in laying hens fed phosphorus-deficient maize-soybean meal diets

A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation of phytase B (product of the Aspergillus niger phyB gene expressed in Trichoderma reesei) on feed intake, laying performance, eggshell quality, and on phosphorus and calcium balance in laying hens. Seventy-two, 40 weeks old Hy Line Brown hens were fed for 14 weeks the following four phosphorus-deficient (0.12% nonphytate p...

Response of laying hens to diet inclusion of canola meal as influenced by dietary nonphytate phosphorus level and microbial phytase supplementation

An experiment employing a factorial arrangement of three levels (0, 8 and 16%) of canola meal (CM), two levels (0.15 and 0.25%) of nonphytate phosphorus (NPP), and two levels (0 and 450 unit/kg; as fed basis) of microbial phytase was conducted using 216 Hy-Line W36 laying hens from 39 to 47 weeks of age. The birds receiving CM consumed more (P < 0.05) feed than birds receiving corn-soybean meal...

Effect of supplementation of two different sources of phytase on egg production parameters in laying hens and nutrient digestiblity.

Hens were fed corn-soybean meal diets containing 0.35, 0.25, 0.15, or 0.10% nonphytate phosphorus (NPP) (40 to 60 wk). Phytases A and B were added at 0.25, 0.15, and 0.10% at 250 to 300 units of phytase (FTU)/kg feed in a 3 x 3 factorial; 0.35% was a control diet. Treatments were replicated with eight cages per treatment (five hens per cage) in a randomized complete block design. Phytase supple...

Performance and nutrient utilization of laying hens fed low-phosphorus corn-soybean and wheat-soybean diets supplemented with microbial phytase.

Two experiments were conducted with laying hens (Lohmann Brown) in an individual cage system and with single feeding conditions. Experiment 1 (n = 24) was a performance trial (22 to 61 wk) to evaluate phytase effects on performance and nutrient utilization in corn-soybean meal (CSM1) and wheat-soybean meal (WSM1) basal diets (0.12% NPP; 3.1% Ca) supplemented (300 U/kg) with an experimental micr...

An Escherichia coli phytase expressed in yeast effectively replaces inorganic phosphorus for finishing pigs and laying hens.

Two experiments determined the efficacy of an Escherichia coli phytase (ECP) added to P-deficient, corn-soybean meal diets fed to finishing pigs and second-cycle laying hens. Sixty finishing pigs (49 +/- 0.9 kg) were formed into blocks within sex based on weight and ancestry and allotted to a P-deficient diet unsupplemented or supplemented with 0.10% inorganic P (iP) from KH2PO4 or ECP at 250, ...
